Time to Learn the Clock
Tick Tock

Beginner

Look at a picture of an analog clock and notice which numbers are on it.

Tip:  Count the numbers on a clock face from 1-12!

Intermediate

Talk to your child about the words that match different amounts of time.

Tip: Use specific words such as the numbers 1-12, “quarter of an hour,” and “half an hour.”

Experienced

Encourage your child to draw an analog clock. Include the numbers, and use sticks or pencils for the hands so that you can move them and practice reading the clock with your child.

Tip:  Ask questions about the clock. “What time is it when the minute hand is at the 2 and the hour hand is at the 4?” “If the clock reads 12:00, what time will it be in an hour?”
