Measurement & Cooking
A unit of measurement is a definite amount or size used to measure the volume, size, or weight of something. Common units in cooking are cups, tablespoons, and teaspoons.

Of these basic measuring tools, a cup is the largest, which then can be broken down into 3/4 cup, 2/3 cup, 1/2 cup, 1/3 cup, and 1/4 cup.
​
The tablespoon (tbsp) is the largest measuring spoon, followed by 1/2 a tbsp.
​
After this they are broken down into teaspoons (tsp) - 1 tsp, 3/4 tsp, 1/2 tsp, 1/3 tsp, 1/4 tsp, and 1/8 tsp.
1 cup can be broken down into two 1/2 cups ...
1 cup can also be split into thirds, like 2/3 cup and 1/3 cup ...
Additionally, 1 cup can be split into quarters, like 1/4 cup and 3/4 cup.
Tablespoons are only broken into halves, and anything smaller than this is measured in teaspoons. Teaspoons can then be broken down further :
