Tip: Ask what sound letters and letter combinations make. “What sound does the A make in Bat? Which letters make the “CH” sound in Lunch?”

Experienced
In a blanket fort, have your child teach a family member, pet, or toy how to read.
Tip: Make sure your child is reading left to right, top to bottom, and putting letters together to make sounds.

Why is this important?

Adding fun to learning activities enhances their impact, and practice with letters and sounds supports literacy development. When a child teaches someone else, it reinforces their own knowledge of the subject.
